Metro Sao Paulo Line 6 PPP - Financing

Acciona and its partners in the Concessionária Linha Universidade (CLU) consortium have closed a 6.9 billion reals financing deal with the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) to develop the largest public-private partnership infrastructure project under construction in Latin America, line 6 of the Sao Paulo metro (Brazil), reports Europa Press. The 15.3km project is sponsored by Acciona, Societe Generale, STOA and Transdev, and is being developed under a 24-year concession agreement with the Sao Paulo State Government.Credit Agricole CIB recently acted as Mandated Lead Arranger (MLA) for the completion bank guarantee in the sustainable-linked project financing. The financing was structured with the Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES), and is partly secured by non-recourse completion bank guarantees provided by Commercial Banks covering 48% of BNDES Term Loan, which will be in place throughout the construction period. The loan is expected to be complemented by local project bonds that are currently being structured.
